Prof Kelvin Tsoi, founder of DeepHealth, was invited by The Chinese University of Hong Kong Jockey Club Centre for Osteoporosis Care and Control (JOCOC) to join World Osteoporosis Day 2022. He had interviews on the topic of osteoporosis and dementia with Prof. Timothy Kwok, Director of JOCOC and Dr. Dicky Choy, Physician of JOCOC.

Prof. Kelvin Tsoi, DeepHealth founder, was committed to Sing Tao Daily (Coverage on Headline Daily) health series with theme of 中大醫健園. In the interview, Prof. Tsoi illustrated the application of data analytics and technology in public health, with a patented drawing platform for cognitive screening and image recognition technology for monitoring blood pressure, etc..

COVID-19 has reshaped the way we live and brought unexpected changes to all of our lives, including health management practices. Prof. Kelvin Tsoi, founder of DeepHealth, in representing CUHK took part in a live interview in RTHK TV31 and showcased the importance of monitoring blood pressure at home to help reduce risks of fetal diseases like stroke, heart-attack, etc..

The opening ceremony of HealthyU was held on Sep 25, 2021 with more than 150 participants joined. Prof. Kelvin Tsoi shared with participants latest information about health management and encouraged participants to start it through joining the programme. The team was happy to have Mr. Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui (旦哥) from HiEggo (健康旦) and Mr. Philip Leung from Deep Drumming (鼓動潛能) to join the event.

DeepHealth and HealthCap supported the programme “May Measurement Month 2021” organized by the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and CUHK Medical Centre. To promote regular measurement of blood pressure at home, DeepHealth donated a blood pressure meter to an elderly living alone (「愛分享 - 血壓健康送暖行動」) for every purchase of blood pressure meter during the month.

DeepHealth, as an exhibitor, has partaken in the Gernotech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES), which was held between 19 to 22 November 2020 in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. In the exhibition, we showcased our home and centre health monitoring solutions, which is particularly useful amid the COVID-19 pandemic, to thousands of participants and staff from elderly centres and non-governmental organizations. We were invited to be one of the speaker in the workshop: Cutting-Edge Technology in Supporting Ageing in Place (delivered by our founder Prof. Kelvin Tsoi). In addition, we were also invited to exhibit HealthCap under the booth of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service to showcase how HealthCap can contribute to tele-care.

Creative Collision, organized by Shared Value Project Hong Kong, was held on 12 November 2020. It is an interactive ‘non-conference’ that aims at gathering leaders from business, civil society, public sector and social innovation in building capacity for Creating Shared Value. DeepHealth was delighted to be invited to the event, in which our Director, Mr. KC Ip, had a sharing about our product HealthCap, concerning its application in the Hong Kong community since 2019, and its utility under the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19.

Start-ups, corporates and HealthTech innovators in the global digital health space were gathered in the 5th Global HealthTech Summit, which was held from 11 to 13 November 2020. Professor Kelvin Tsoi, Founder of DeepHealth, was invited to share his experience on utilizing an innovative tool, HealthCap, in the promotion of smart health management in Hong Kong. HealthCap is also showcased at the online exhibition. We were invited to join the panel discussion in the session: Ecosystem Discovery Through the Eyes of Digital Health Startups where Professor Kelvin Tsoi talked about opportunities and challenges in Hong Kong ecosystem.

Continuous blood pressure monitoring is indispensable for patients with high blood pressure. Our smart home blood pressure management solution HealthCap has made its debut on the television screen with the programme Innovation GPS, an episode that broadcasted on 28th October 2020, by TVB. In the show, Our Founder, Professor Kelvin Tsoi, and our Director, Mr. KC Ip, have showcased the properties of HealthCap, including automatic blood pressure recording and health data analytic reports to the audience.

The Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Christopher Chu, and the Chief Operating Officer of DeepHealth, Miss Lemy Wong, have made a sharing session regarding the notions of developing HealthCap and its application in the Hong Kong community. However, regardless of how big their dreams are, it is important to ensure that their vision and goals are practical and would benefit the many customers who use their product. Hence, we asked the question of whether there is a greater market and demand for blood pressure or dementia monitoring.

DeepHealth has hosted a Live event on 28th August 2020, which was broadcasted on platforms of ZOOM and Facebook. Professor Kelvin Tsoi, the Founder of DeepHealth has shared insights from the latest research findings concerning hypertension and the importance of utilizing digital health tool, namely HealthCap, in monitoring individual health in the community. The Live Broadcast session has attracted audience from healthcare, welfare sectors and the public individuals.

With the advent of healthcare technology advancement, patients could be able to receive simplified yet promising healthcare services, while the healthcare burden could be much alleviated. Local healthcare technology start-up, DeepHealth, has invented a digital health tool, namely HealthCap, for blood pressure monitoring, in the hope of facilitating the development of blood pressure telemonitoring. HealthCap, was developed with a wish to simplify the tedious health data record process, with the use of a mobile application. The operation of the APP sticks to the simple principle: taking picture of the blood pressure monitors’ screens with smartphone camera. Data recorded would be seamlessly synchronized to the HealthCap platform, where not only individuals can access at any time, but also the professionals required to be informed such as healthcare and social workers. In a long run, it helps accelerate the adoption of telemonitoring as well as alleviate healthcare burden especially yielded by chronic diseases.

Upon the third wave of the novel coronavirus in Hong Kong, everyone, especially those with pre-existing chronic health conditions, is at risk of becoming ill. These circumstances call for a greater focus to mange one’s own health to ensure that they do not fall victim to the deadly virus. However, associate professor Kelvin Tsoi of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, believes that victims of hypertension do not currently have an accurate and reliable method of monitoring their health conditions. He also believes that there is a greater need for doctors to accurate assess the risks that victims of hypertension may face, by using their past health data.

DeepHealth was founded in 2018 by Kelvin Tsoi, by an epidemiologist and professor from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. DeepHealth has now in partnership Hong Kong Telecom (HKT), incorporating our digital blood pressure management platform, HealthCap, with HKT e-Health platform. HealthCap was presented in the recent Gernotech and Innovation Expo cum Summit on 21-24 November 2019 showcasing our innovative solutions on health management. The event kick started our collaboration with HKT to provide continuous home health monitoring for elderlies in day care centres.

Originated from the International Society of Hypertension (ISH), this is the first time for Hong Kong to participate in May Measurement Month (MMM). As technical support of the event, DeepHealth introduced the newly-launched mobile application — HealthCap to the general public.

Organized by our partner, CUHK Alumni Charity Fund, Taste of Life aimed at raising concerns towards the needs of our aging society. DeepHealth set up a booth introducing our product-in-trial – ScreenMat, a mobile application for screening of cognitive impairment, at the event. Our team provides one-on-one guidance for elderly participants to finish the dementia screening test on the app.

DeepHealth has participated in the AIA Hackathon event “LifeHack 18” at Cyberport Hong Kong and we have been awarded the 1st Place Winning Team. There was a total of 108 attendees, including AIA employees from 12 countries. The 48-hour hackathon challenge led us to brainstorm and develop our ideas, a dementia screening platform with family engagement and cognitive training, had paved the way for a creative solution to help people live healthier, longer and better lives.
